COASTAL EROSION

Read pp.70-73 and 78-80 of 'Landform Systems', and answer the following questions:

1. What is the difference between a discordant and concordant coastline ? [3]

2. What is Pethick's definition of a cliff ? [1]

3. Using the outline of the British Isles, identify the 2 main zones of cliffs. Annotate the map to show the types of cliffs found in the 2 areas, and the rates of recession (how much the cliff is worn back..), and identify at least 6 areas where cliffed coastlines can be found (obviously Hunstanton and Holderness should appear on your map - add the rate of erosion too) [4]
