Grid References....get it ?
First there was the NATIONAL GRID for LEARNING, which was part of the idea of having a Virtual Teacher Centre on the Internet that would be a repository for work from teachers around the country and save everyone a lot of time. Except that teachers are happy to take materials but aren't so quick to add something of their own. This is certainly the case with the Teacher Resource Exchange, where a lot more teachers are registered than have actually contributed a resource of some kind.
There are some reasonable ones out there, although there's a certain overlap of content, and duplication of links which tend to miss out the better ones that some of the better portal sites would provide you with.
Now also features addresses of Geographical Association LOCAL ASSOCIATION WEBSITES. These often feature notes for lectures which have been organised by the association, or other useful resources, although not as much as there could be.

There are many local associations of the Geographical Association which often feature useful contacts: websites, transcripts and Powerpoint presentations of lecturers.
The local one is NORFOLK: They have some useful lecture notes, including lecture on FLOOD MANAGEMENT IN BANGLADESH, and one on NORFOLK BROADS.
The GEOGRAPHICAL ASSOCIATION itself has a useful website. They have lectures from the 2002 GA Conference.
The BRISTOL association has a useful site giving the Bristol harbour-side as an example of a development project. There are all the details available for a decision making exercise.
The Hampshire GA's site is organised by Alistair McNaught.
There's also the SCOTTISH GA site to visit, plus their SCOTTISH Virtual Teacher Centre.
Some useful materials are made available by the North Staffordshire Branch of the Geographical Association.
