A lot of useful material is being produced by teachers: sometimes in their own time (like this humble effort) or based at school.
Wycombe High School is probably my favourite school site. There are so many tremendous resources and links here. If the site had been around 10 years ago I would have saved myself a lot of time, and probably not bothered with all this GeographyPages nonsense. Check out the Mothersole's work at WYCOMBE HIGH SCHOOL here.
THE GEOGRAPHY PORTAL is well worth a visit. This is produced by Kesgrave School in Suffolk. I like their flood Hydrograph exercise, and they have added a tremendous amount of new material since I first came across it, including a good range of downloadable revision sheets and Powerpoint presentations which are likely to save you a lot of time. Recommended.
There are also plenty of new 6th form resources. These include resources on a range of environments, including Coasts, Rivers, Earthquakes, Volcanoes etc.
There are also some excellent photos from North Wales: including ones on Hill Sheep Farming, Llanberis and Rivers.
Some good images of the DORSET coast, with features such as Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Chesil Beach and Man o' War rocks produced by a Hertfordshire school.
NOTLEY HIGH SCHOOL in Essex has added several pages of images from various trips. They have photos from a visit to the THAMES BARRIER, HIROSHIMA GARLANDS, DORSET (plenty of images) and HANNINGFIELD RESERVOIR. Has now been added to with some other useful materials, notably some pictures of fieldtrips to STUDLAND BAY again, and a good set on BARTON ON SEA.
The Geography page of St James Catholic HIGH SCHOOL has a few images, notably of STICKLE TARN, with some new ones of CHESTER CBD, and the RIVER BOLLIN. There are also some literacy resources on this page: spelling mats, an examination mat, and rivers and earthquake mats.
Some excellent new resources at the QUEENSBURY SCHOOL in Bradford. There are 2 in particular that are useful: a Powerpoint presentation on a trip to Iceland - some great images and named examples, and a VIRTUAL TOUR OF MALHAM COVE (there are some good images of the area on the site too...)
The Wrotham School has a site called THE GEOGRAPHY DEPARTMENT. There are some useful resources on the site: photo galleries of Maidstone, Coastal Defences and Fieldwork Skills for example. Watch out for the blue blobs that follow your cursor around.
North Tyneside has produced the COOL SCHOOLS site for local schools, offering resources for all Key Stages.
Some useful materials available at HORBURY SCHOOL in Wakefield. There are plenty of images and links to some useful POWERPOINT presentations produced by 'Mr. Riches'.
John Harrison of the King's School in Peterborough has put the GEOGRAPHER site up. New content on there. Has power-points and resources, plus a rather good sample SYNOPTIC exercise. Recommended.
Some useful FIELD TRIP pictures and details on STATISTICAL TECHNIQUES FOR AS / A2 INVESTIGATIONS at the KING's SCHOOL, Worcester.
HABSBOYS has some interesting sets of photos from trips around the place, including Walton on the Naze, Watford (famous for the Roy Harper song 'Watford Gap'.... what do you mean you haven't heard it....the Chilterns, Docklands - good images of various types of buildings, and Dorset.
Some reasonable sites listed by WOODHOUSE HIGH school in Staffordshire.
A recent find is BECKET SCHOOL in NOTTINGHAMSHIRE. This has some great material on it. Some very useful galleries including NOTTINGHAM, YORKSHIRE etc.
The BRITISH SCHOOL OF BRUSSELS has a nice site.
A growing site is that at ENDON SCHOOL in Staffordshire which has some useful GCSE case study material, and also photo galleries/
Katharine Lady Berkeley's school has a rather good WEATHER STATION site which features data, images, synoptic images and other school meteorology sites.
Recent site: GEOG4U at OUR LADY's CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL, PRESTON with materials relating to Geog.DOT series.
http://www.freewebs.com/stopfordgeography/index.htm - Bishop Stopford's School has links to GeographyPages.
NEWER
GEO-WORLD which is based at the Beal High School. Nice design. Some interesting content and organisation.
Also new is the site of HAILEYBURY: a public school near Hertford. Their Geography resource centre has some nice touches. Nicely designed, spinning globes, Tsunami video footage and various links to different aspects of Geography. Go and take a look.
Anthony Gillett from Chorlton High School has created the MANCHESTERGEOGRAPHY site, which has some useful GCSE pages revision pages and galleries, and material relating to fieldwork in the Peak District.
Rob Burn's GEOGRAPHY LAB has been resurrected, and has links to various software and IWB ideas, and also an embryonic GBay - Geographical exchange place...
Rob Chambers has clearly been working hard on his GEOBYTES site, which forms part of a wider online learning community based at St. Ives north of Cambridge.
PRETTEJOHN DOT NET is a useful site put together by Chris Prettejohn. Some good ECOTOURISM ideas.
GEOG 4 U has some useful materials.
Not a new site, but one which has added a range of useful recent material is RALPH ALLEN school. This now has a large e-learning resources site, which has had some recent updates by the look of the dates. These include some information on the following topics, and is well worth a visit.
Fieldtrip to Bath documents and all associated sheets (useful for adaptation to other locations)
Peter Robinson at Kemnay Academy has let me know about his new site to support his students: good one !
