DESIGN IDEAS
There are many parks around the UK (and further afield) where there are water slides which can be used for ideas.
Some of them have websites:
http://www.wetnwild.com.au/visitor_info/the_rides.cfm - Wet N Wild - Australia
http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/water-slide.htm - How they work. Well you need water, and a slide, and ....
http://archives.cnn.com/2000/US/11/05/disney.death/index.html - Water slides are safe aren't they ?
http://www.altontowers.com/waterpark/ - closer to home, and has a 'virtual tour' - if you like I'll throw a bucket of water over you at the crucial moment just to increase the reality factor...
http://www.reviseict.co.uk/ks3/9.1/index.shtml - some useful resources and games to add to units - Beat the Bomb and Fling the Teacher SWF games which can be downloaded to play offline.
GANTT CHARTS
These are a way of visualising the SYSTEM LIFE CYCLE, and how you would spend your time working towards a final outcome.
Each line in the chart shows one aspect of what you need to do, and across the top goes the time scale.
For a copy of the SYSTEM LIFE CYCLE, go HERE to download a POWERPOINT SLIDE which shows the System Life Cycle
OTHER WEBSITES CONTAINING INFORMATION ON THIS UNIT
This is for those of you who want to get a Level 6
or higher.
For this you will need to use SUBROUTINES in FLOWOL.
We will be looking at FLOWOL shortly.
The Effective ICT site has some useful additional resources. A good video of Splash Mountain in Disneyland for example. Thanks to colleagues at Neale Wade School, notably Andrew Field.

http://www.teachernet.gov.uk/supportpack/module.aspx?t=2&s=9&m=18690&n=249975&b=419970 - some excellent supporting resources from TeacherNet, particularly useful are the flash animations of a typical log flume and the accompanying worksheets.
Put all these together and you have some interesting resources to use...
